HubSpot: what businesses should know

HubSpot combines a CRM with marketing, sales, customer service, content and operations tools, offered as separate "hubs" on one platform.

  • Full review in progress. This page is an overview to help you decide whether HubSpot belongs on your shortlist. It has no rating yet. Our in-depth review, with setup, daily use, support and real costs, will replace it.

What HubSpot is

HubSpot is made by HubSpot, Inc.. It sits in our CRM & sales category, alongside the other options listed at the end of this page.

Best suited to: Small and mid-sized businesses that want marketing and sales in one easy-to-use system, starting small and adding hubs as they grow.

What it does

  • Free CRM core for contacts, deals and tasks
  • Marketing hub: email, forms, landing pages, automation
  • Sales and service hubs: sequences, tickets, chat

What to check before you buy

Questions to answer, ideally during a free trial or a demo, before you commit:

  • How costs change as your contact list grows.
  • Which hub and tier contain the features you need.
  • Contract length and onboarding requirements.
  • Integrations with your accounting and e-commerce tools.
  • US tax and compliance. Software doesn't replace professional advice on payroll, sales tax or industry rules.
  • Getting your data out. Ask how you would export your data if you ever switch.

Pricing

HubSpot pricing depends on the plan, number of users and add-ons, and vendors change it often. We don't list prices on overview pages; check the current plans on the official HubSpot website. Our full review will break down the real cost.
